The course includes two seven day blocks with a weekend off in the middle, based in and around a beautiful farm in Central Victoria. Below is a tentative daily timetable.
Friday Mar 26 5pm: Introductions and camping set up
Mar 27 – 29: Introduction to permaculture, the permaculture design process and design project site visits
Mar 30: Climate, landforms and patterns in nature:
Mar 31: Water and access.
Apr 1: Group design work
Apr 2: Trees. Site visit to David Holmgren and Su Dennett’s place in Hepburn
Apr 5: Soils
Apr 6: Crops.
Apr 7: Animals. Site visit to David Holmgren and Su Dennett’s place in Hepburn
Apr 8: Alt-economics and livelihoods
Apr 9: Appropriate technology, bioregions and community organising
Apr 10: Design time, and final presentations & party
Apr 11: Final breakfast with a bit of where to from here and wrap up
Note: If you choose to camp, you’ll need your own camping gear. Otherwise you can organise your own accommodation in the area, such as in Hepburn.
