The course includes two seven day blocks with a weekend off in the middle, based in and around a beautiful farm in Central Victoria. Below is a tentative daily timetable.
Friday Oct 25 5pm: Introductions and camping set up
Oct 26 – Oct 28: Introduction to permaculture, the permaculture design process and design project site visits
Oct 29: Climate, landforms and patterns in nature:
Oct 30: Water and access.
Oct 31: Group design work
Nov 1: Trees. Site visit to David Holmgren and Su Dennett’s place in Hepburn
Nov 4: Soils
Nov 5: Crops.
Nov 6: Animals. Site visit to David Holmgren and Su Dennett’s place in Hepburn
Nov 7: Alt-economics and livelihoods
Nov 8: Appropriate technology, bioregions and community organising
Nov 9: Design time, and final presentations & party
Nov 10: Final day, where to from here and wrap up
Note: If you choose to camp, you’ll need your own camping gear. Otherwise you can organise your own accommodation in the area, such as in Hepburn.
