The course includes two seven day blocks with a weekend off in the middle, based in and around a beautiful farm in Central Victoria. Below is a tentative daily timetable.
Friday Oct 30 5pm: Introductions and camping set up
Oct 31 – Nov 2: Introduction to permaculture, the permaculture design process and design project site visits
Nov 3: Climate, landforms and patterns in nature:
Nov 4: Water and access.
Nov 5: Group design work
Nov 6: Trees. Site visit to David Holmgren and Su Dennett’s place in Hepburn
Nov 9: Soils
Nov 10: Crops.
Nov 11: Animals. Site visit to David Holmgren and Su Dennett’s place in Hepburn
Nov 12: Alt-economics and livelihoods
Nov 13: Appropriate technology, bioregions and community organising
Nov 14: Design time, and final presentations & party
Nov 15: Final day, where to from here and wrap up
Note: If you choose to camp, you’ll need your own camping gear. Otherwise you can organise your own accommodation in the area, such as in Hepburn.
